A Timeless Masterpiece: Exploring the 1931 Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 Gran Turismo Compressore Series V by Touring
As an attractive, supercharged grand tourer, the GTC, also known as the 6C 1750 Gran Turismo Compressore Series V, was created in the 1930s. It had a detuned version of the 1,752-cubic-centimeter supercharged engine that was found in the powerful 6C Gran Sport. The GTC was able to produce an estimated 80 horsepower. The vehicle featured an enhanced running gear consisting of semi-elliptic springs, adjustable shock absorbers, larger brakes and axles, and a gearbox that was taken from the 8C. Additionally, the automobile had a streamlined, long-wheelbase chassis that was suitable for refined saloon bodies.

There were two lightweight competition variations of the GTC that competed in the 1932 Mille Miglia. Although the GTC was not as sporty as a real sports racer, it was nevertheless skilled enough to compete in the race. Customers who were wealthy purchased the automobile, and they took great care in selecting the chassis bodies from the most reputable coachbuilders.

The vehicle that is being displayed here looks to be one of only 66 GTCs that were manufactured in 1931.

It was designed by Carrozzeria Touring and featured a slim Coupé Royal body.

It displayed the beginnings of aerodynamic principles, as evidenced by the streamlined fenders, strangely domed roof, and sloping trunk designs.

The body type of the Coupé Royal was given the moniker “Fugientem Incurro Diem” by the coachbuilder. This expression is approximately translated from Latin and means “And the time flies.”
